Heger Dry Dock has participated in the design of numerous floating dry docks, vessel transfer systems and launching methods. We are also regularly asked to prepare blocking plans, pumping plans and or develop procedures for drydocking difficult or unusual vessels.

3,800 Ton Capacity Floating Dock

In 2002, HEGER developed design parameters and provided complete design drawings and specifications for the floating dock structure and mooring grippers and outline specification for mechanical/electrical equipment for a 3,800 ton floating dock. The dock was built in 3 sections, launched and assembled afloat.

The dock was constructed in the US and delivered to Lyon Shipyard in 2002. It is now successfully operating at Lyon Shipyard in Norfolk, Virginia.
