Heger Dry Dock has participated in the design of numerous floating dry docks, vessel transfer systems and launching methods. We are also regularly asked to prepare blocking plans, pumping plans and or develop procedures for drydocking difficult or unusual vessels.

7,000 ton capacity floating dock

In 2009, HEGER designed a two piece, all steel, 7,000 ton capacity floating dock for Bay Shipbuilding, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. We developed the design parameters and provided complete design drawings and specifications for the floating dock. We teamed with Bruce S. Rosenblatt & Associates, LLC who provided mechanical and electrical design. The design is complete and construction has started.
