Heger Dry Dock has participated in the design of numerous floating dry docks, vessel transfer systems and launching methods. We are also regularly asked to prepare blocking plans, pumping plans and or develop procedures for drydocking difficult or unusual vessels.

Assist with Rebuilding And Recertification of
Basin Dock
In 2004, HEGER was member of accident investigation team to determine the reasons for failure and recommend repair to a burst cellular cofferdam in Basin Dock No. 3 at General Dynamics, Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut. After the repairs were made we assisted Electric Boat revise their Facility Certification Report under MIL STD-1625C to obtain U.S. Navy recertification for docking nuclear submarines.
The dock walls have been rebuilt and the dock is currently certified under MIL Std-1625D.
