A leader in the dry dock industry for over 10 years, we specialize in design, inspection and certification of floating dry docks, graving dry docks and launchways; as well as consultation on all dry dock and launchway related projects.

Our People

Our team includes a diverse group of engineers led by Robert Heger and Mark Procter who both have over 30 years of experience in dry dock design and marine engineering.

Robert Heger, President & Chief Engineer

  • BS-Civil Engineering from Tufts University, Boston, MA
  • Experience in drydock design and marine engineering dates to 1978
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, Maryland and Rhode Island
  • Prepares structural and stability calculations regarding ship dockings and launchings
  • Prepares MIL-STD-1625(C)SH Facility Certification Reports for submittal to U.S. Navy
  • Conducts inspections of all types of drydocks and analyzes structural capacity
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2007
  • Certified diver, proficient in underwater inspections
  • Conducts Dockmaster training seminars
  • Expert witness in legal cases involving dry docks

Mark Procter, Treasurer & Senior Engineer

  • BS-Civil Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA
  • Experience in drydock design and marine engineering dates to 1979
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts and Maryland
  • Prepares structural and stability calculations regarding ship dockings and launchings
  • Prepares MIL-STD-1625(C)SH Facility Certification Reports for submittal to U.S. Navy
  • Conducts inspections of all types of drydocks and analyzes structural capacity
  • Proficient in use of GHS hydrostatics software for analysis of floating drydocks and ships
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2007 including solid modeling techniques

Jack Belmore, Senior Designer

  • Experience in construction, detailing and CAD design dates to 1980

Premal Shah, Engineer, EIT

  • MS-Mechanical Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD 2007, solid modeling techniques and finite element analysis
  • Proficient in use of GHS hydrostatics software for analysis of floating drydocks
  • Knowledgeable in NAVSEA Ch.997, MIL-STD-1625 & MIL-HDBK-1026
  • Assists in structural analyses & drydock inspections

Wally Sayed, Engineer, EIT

  • BS-Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA
  • Prepares structural and stability calculations regarding ship dockings
  • Experienced in dry docking naval vessels
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2007 and solid modeling.
  • Knowledgeable in C++, ProE, NASTRAN/PATRAN, Siemens PLC and GHS
  • Knowledgeable in NAVSEA Ch.997, MIL-STD-1625 & MIL-HDBK-1026
